It is the story that Hellraiser was based on. The people that will do anything to reach their deepest desires and pleasures really come to find out what it means in their own personal hells. I loved it! It is gory, but also goes into how far people will go to reach the ultimate pleasure.

The Queen of the Damned
by Anne Rice
Third book in the Vampire Chronicles is how Lestat brings the original vampire Queen back to life from a state of eternal rest and she is ready to dominate the world.
This was my favorite of the three books. It was like the first two were all exposition, laying out the characters, and getting ready for the ultimate action that took place in this one. This one does involve a lot of history with other really old vampires. All of their histories are really interesting. All of those characters lead to the queen being awakened and the major havoc she unleashes. Ah, crazy Lestat, always getting into trouble.

Snow Crash is about drugs frying brains like computer viruses, virutal worlds known as the Metaverse and how the U.S. has just become a bunch of corporate franchises instead of states. The book talks about virtual reality really before it took off. It really predicted a lot of things that came into reality years later. It is also hilarious.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
by J.K. Rowling
Very entertaining story for kids that is quite entertaining for adults as well. Harry Potter finds out on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard and is going off to train at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Quick read that was pretty funny at times too.
