When someone is doing well in a Vegas casino, the cooler is sent out to kill the winning streak. William H. Macy is the loser who has no luck in his entire life until he meets a cocktail waitress that actually falls for him.
William H. Macy is the cooler. I think most coolers probably have tricks to help kill the luck. It sounds old school and stuff. His character doesn’t have any tricks. His luck is so bad that just standing next to someone, their good streak turns to bad super fast.
The first 2/3 of the movie is mildly amusing and almost boring. I was wondering if it was going anywhere. There were some cute scenes and things to that were fun to watch, but not completely entertaining on a whole. The last part of the movie improved greatly and was interesting.
There was much nakedness going on in this movie, but a lot of it was Macy and I don’t think anyone wants to see that. It also had Maria Bello naked so I guess that could make up for it for the guys. Alec Baldwin was super sleazy old school owner of the casino that Macy worked for and they were also old friends. He did a good job at being sleazy. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, but didn’t win the Oscar.
This would make a good cable movie or possibly Netflix.

Did you know at the moment of death, the body loses 21 grams? Some say it is the soul leaving. As for the movie, an accident throws a sick mathematician (Sean Penn), a grieving mother (Naomi Watts) and a born-again ex-con (Benicio Del Toro) together.
This movie was quite odd. It was shown out of order with little clips here and there so the beginning was quite confusing while you were trying to figure out what was going on and who these people were. You were also trying to figure out when the scenes took place, in the present, past, future, who knows! It was interesting to watch the movie in that way, but it also made it difficult to get to know the characters much. With so much jumping around, you just watched it. Now I can't remember the very end because I might have saw it earlier in the movie or just forgot it. oops!
The acting was really good but it was just too choppy for me. It wasn't like how Pulp Fiction had three big parts of the movie and they weren't shown in order. This movie had every scene taking place in a different place in time and the scenes weren't very long. I was able to figure out what was happening but just as you got into a scene, time to jump somewhere else! It became frustrating.

A bunch of Asian kids create a gang that sells exams and drugs while they steal thing.
You get to know Ben, who is a kid doing his best in school and making sure everything that he does looks awesome on a transcript so he can get into college. He is trying to get on the school's basketball team, works a part-time fast food job where he is the employee of the month every month, learns a new word everyday so he can improve his SAT scores to perfect, and has a crush on Stephanie, the cheerleader at school.
He becomes friends with Stephanie even though she has a boyfriend (Harold from Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle). He is completely not threatened by Ben even though it is obvious to everyone how much of a crush he has on Stephanie, which Ben isn't sure what to think about. Ben is also friends with Virgil, a gangta wannabe kid. Both of them are on the decathalon in school and become friends with Daric, the senior leading the decathalon team and head of every academic club in school. From there, the scams and gang-like activity starts and things start to get interesting.
Even though, it sounds like I told you a lot, that is just the set up for the movie. A lot of stuff happens in this movie, but it is slow going at first. It finally picks up around the time all of these kids get to know each other more and cause havoc. Then things go very bad and then it ends really up in the air.
I really liked this movie. It built up slow but you became involved in what everyone was doing and it was really funny at times since it was all so messed up.

A village of people live a simple life but are afraid of things that live in the woods surrounding their valley.
I saw the reviews for this movie and everyone talks about a twist. I think if you go into watch the movie as just a movie instead of a M. Night Shamalyan movie, then you'll enjoy it a lot more. I really liked it.
I thought it was really pretty movie to look at and had a great love story in the middle of it. The stuff in the forest was spooky, but I really enjoyed the love story. And if you have noticed in other reviews, I will roll my eyes right away at any lovey-dovey crap that just goes over the edge on sappy. This wasn't sappy. There was good chemistry between the two people. I don't want to give too much away for those that haven't seen it. It was great with the movie theater filled with teenagers (damn school being out) kept jumping at every little thing. That was worth it, especially since Marci and Jer wanted to kill all the teens in the theater before the movie started.
Adrian Brody was really funny and sad at the same time. I think he did a good job making me laugh at him, feel sorry for him because he doesn't understand, and get really mad at him all at once. You'll have to see it to understand that. Ron Howard's daughter is the main person in the movie, and it was her first movie role. You can't tell. She's really good. Joaquin Phoenix is also good, but I started remembering him as the little porno freak kid in Parenthood. That made me laugh and I'm not sure why I remembered that during this movie since it has nothing to do with the movie.
There is a twist in the movie. Actually I thought there were a few minor ones and then the big one at the end, but there are hints of what is going on along the way. Maybe since it isn't such a shocker that critics don't really like it. Whatever, I enjoyed it. This guy at work though hated it. I'm not sure why. He wouldn't explain besides saying it made him mad.

He wanted to be left alone, but the CIA wouldn't have it that way so now Matt Damon is going after them.
Holy crap! This movie was awesome. It was a lot tenser and suspenseful than the first one. It was insane.
People complained about the shaky camera, but I could follow what was going on. I also think my feet were off the floor whenever there was a car chase or anyone was chasing him since stuff just came out of nowhere. You couldn't see stuff coming and then WHAM! there it was hitting him or he was hitting something and wow. If there was a camera on me watching the movie, I would look like such a dork cuz my feet kept coming up off the floor, my hands kept jumping to my face and I think I kept weaving.
Oh, and it had a good plot too, but who cares about that! It was super crazy stuff. I kept laughing and giggling whenever he smacked someone or made them jump or just caught someone off guard. It was awesome. Good summer movie. I recommend it highly in the theater.
Also, some people have been sick from the movement of the cameras, but I wasn't. I also don't get sick from spinning around in a circle forever, which I think is related to my messed up hearing and inner ear stuff. So that works to my benefit for movies like this!
