Ghost Rider!
Dear Ghost Rider,
You are a super fun movie because you have motorcycles and flames and Nic Cage.
I also like you because you were starting at a good time when Melissa and I wanted to see a movie when she was visiting from Denver. So go you!
Your bad guys were kinda silly – what was up with the one guy always having his head cocked to the side?
Good use of the dad/son relationship angst to drive the story!
One thing that I will copy from you is drinking jelly beans out of a martini glass – that was super funny.
People should see you if they just want a fun adventure movie while they enjoy some popcorn and cherry coke. I hope you make a lot of friends, but be aware that these will be shallow relationships, no one is going to ask you to be best man at the wedding.
Flame on!
Amy
ps when you are done with the motorcycle of flames, please give to me, thanks!
This movie does look pretty silly and I’m still wary of young girls liking Nic Cage, but I’ll probably see it on cable. I do love the shallow relationship line. haha!
I just got done watching this movie. It’s usually a toss up with the comic movies, but I actually really enjoyed this one!
Nick… you are hawt as a flaming skull!
I watched this last night as I bought it as a last minute checkstand item. I knew it was going to be a silly kind of funny action movie. And it was. However, I wasn’t over-impressed with it. It was entertaining enough and Sam Elliott is just awesome and has a yummy voice I wish he was in it more.
Another comic book movie where I know nothing about the comic book, but had to see it. I have given up on Nic Cage doing good movies anymore. He used to way back when, but he just does whatever nowadays.
This is one of those, especially the kind where he has a love interest that is about 10 years younger than him. I loved it when he is a teenager that is 16 or 17 years old with a girlfriend around the same age, yet when he is an adult, he is Nic Cage age (44) and Eva Mendes is 33. I guess that is better than when Jessica Biel was his love interest, but still! Are they telling us that the 17 year old was dating a 7 year old at the beginning of the movie? I’m sorry, but I find this stuff distracting. At least they had some chemistry, which is better than some of the other younger actresses they have put him with.
Amy commented about the father-son angst, and I know she was talking about Nic Cage and his father, but didn’t get anything out of that. I enjoyed the father-son angst more from the devil and his son, even though his son was not scary and all, and completely laughable. I saw him at first and thought, “Yeah, the cool kid from American Beauty is finally in something else.” Then he was such an emo little devil son that it made me sad.
I have no idea why those three elemental-based bad dudes would hang out with the devil’s son and do what he said since he would just send one after another to go die from the Ghost Rider. You think they would have caught on, but maybe they were just a little bit “special”.
I did enjoy that when he rode his motorcycle and then the next day the city was cleaning up his mess of destroyed streets. I was thinking, he can’t be a “good guy” for long if he’s costing the city tons of money and time to clean up after his mess.
Finally, this movie seemed very short. I just checked and it was two hours long. It seemed a lot shorter than that. It was like it was getting up and going, and then it was all over. I guess that’s kinda good since I wasn’t overly impressed with it.
