My Take: I love this show! I love it when they go beyond the normal people when they cast for the show, but of course, it all comes down to their personalities. I have hopes for the pink goths kids, but I’ll pick some favorites after the first episode or two when I really get to know what everyone is like.

TV News

Writer’s Strike
Starting at midnight tonight (early Monday morning), the writers are going on strike. They have been trying to negotiate for three months in order to get some additional payments for “new media”, which is Internet airings, downloads for Ipod type things, and DVD revenue. Studios say they it is all too new and they don’t really know how much they are making from these avenues. Wha? They don’t know how much they sell for advertising on the internet stuff or how much they make when they sell a DVD or an Ipod download? I give full s support for the writers since they are the main reason why I love television. What this means though is we might lose scripted television in January since that’s when we run out what has already been written for the tv season. I really hope that the studios do something and quick acting stupid and greedy.

Singing Bee & Heroes: Origins Pulled
NBC pulled The Singing Bee for November sweeps since it has been slowly dying in the ratings. People must be bored with the karaoke. There will be two-hour episodes of The Biggest Loser in its place. Heroes: Origins has been pulled. It was meant to follow Heroes in April, and be little one-off stories following new characters. If any of them became popular, they might have been added to future Heroes episodes. Directors such as Kevin Smith, Eli Roth, Michael Dougherty and John August were set to direct the episodes, but it was still in pre-production. It was pulled due to financial concerns and the writer’s strike.

Women’s Murder Club
ABC has asked for three additional scripts for Women’s Murder Club. The only new shows that have not been given any kind of extension are Big Shots and Cavemen. Two shows I am not watching, so I’m sure they are bad.

Samantha Who?
Since Samantha Who? continues to do great ratings for ABC, they have picked it up for a full-season.

Dog the Bounty Hunter
A&E has pulled all episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunter and halted production after Dog went off on a racist rant against his son’s black girlfriend. He called her very bad names and said his son wasn’t allowed on the team while he was dating her. Classy.

Knight Rider
There will be a TV movie update to Knight Rider that will serve as a possible pilot for an updated series. Former soap guy Justin Bruening will star as Michael Knight’s son. K.I.T.T. is supposed to be a transforming-type car now too.
