Synopsis: The first season took place in 1960 and ended around Thanksgiving. The new season picks up on Valentine’s Day in 1962. No clue what is going to happen with the kid Peggy gave birth to in secret at the end of last season, but that’ll come up soon enough.

My Take: I love this show. It looks beautiful as a period piece, but it is also amazing with stories and acting. I also like to play a drinking game where you drink whenever they drink or smoke. That’ll get you pretty toasted.

My Take: It is a goofy, breezy show filled with a cast that has good chemistry with one another.

Comic Con: Lost & Pushing Daisies

I forgot that I hadn’t written about the EW TV Panel that we attended on Thursday. It was full when we arrived so we got in line for the WOW panel afterwards. They let people in as they figured out there were still seats so we got in to listen to a good portion of it. We were way in the back so I just listened and didn’t take any pictures of the panel. That’s why I forgot I listened to it. The panel had the creator of The O.C., Gossip Girl, and Chuck, the creators of Lost, the creator of Pushing Daisies, and the creator of Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Comic Con: Saturday / Sunday

Here are the last of the pictures of random people on the last two days of the conference. We were getting worn out and it was hard to get into any panel on these days. It was easier to get around and see stuff on Wed-Fri.

Transformer walking down the hall. They said for everyone to get out of his way since he couldn’t see. People did get out of his way a bit, but they mostly just took pictures with him or of him.

Comic Con: Warhammer Online

I didn’t take any pictures, but it just goes along with the huge waste of time the panel turned out to be. They were going to show a trailer, but then they decided to save it and show it to the Germans later on. Then they decided not to discuss any details, so the guy who was the Creative Director just blabbed on telling stories for about 50 minutes. He was a good speaker, but not the point of why we were there. Very disappointing.

Comic Con: World of Warcraft

That’s the crazy prize I received from the WOW panel. Each person was handed one card, along with comics and a poster. At one point, Jer looked over at my car and asked why I had stamps on my card. I thought everyone did so I was confused. At the very end of the panel, they told everyone that if their cards had stamps on them to go to the front of the room. There were people with one, two or three stamps. The one stamp received a huge manga book. The three stamp cards received a miniature. The two stamp people, like me, received the huge action figure. That thing is big. There were many jealous people when we walked out asking if that’s what we got for stamps. The really jealous were the three stamps people that just got a miniature figure. They wished they got what I had. Everyone else that didn’t have any stamps, got a WOW pin.

Comic Con: Image Panel

Jer met Jim Valentino at the Portland Airport before we headed to the convention. He used to collect his stuff when he was a kid so it was cool to meet him. He said there would be a big announcement from Image so we checked out the panel. They announced that seven creators would be collaborating on a new series involving all their best known characters. What would happen is each person would be in charge of one issue with the storyline and artwork. They would sketch in the other characters from the other guys and then pass it off to them to actually fill it in for real. All the people involved were Robert Kirkman, Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri, Whilce Portacio, Rob Liefeld, Erik Larsen, and Jim Valentino. Sounds like a cool concept.

Comic Con: Stargate SG1

Brad Wright (executive producer and co-creator) arrived on stage to introduce Stargate Continuum, the latest Stargate movie. The rest of the cast was subject to availability so we didn’t know who would arrive. We were thrilled when everyone that was scheduled was there, including Richard Dean Anderson. It was his first convention, so we got an extra special treat with him there. Everyone was introduced one by one with long introductions about how handsome or pretty they were along with how talented. Everyone got that intro except for Christopher Judge. He was just announced quickly by his name. He came out and gave himself a big hug (seen below) and then he smacked everyone’s butt before sitting down. That’s what he is doing to Beau Bridges above.

Comic Con: Friday

Comic Con: Dexter

Michael C. Hall, Julie Benz, the executive producer and head writer were present at the Dexter panel. It was a bit more subdued compared to the Torchwood panel. It was moderated by Kristin from E! Online. There was a trailer for the third season of Dexter shown, which hasn’t been shown anywhere else yet. It showed that Jimmy Smits is joining the cast and might become an actual friend to Dexter.
