At first glance, I thought Zoe Saldana in The Losers was Thandie Newton. Zoe seems to be playing the same kind of role Thandie has played in stylish action pictures, but without the British accent. As for the limited releases, isn’t Ryan Reynolds tired of playing superhero characters? He will be in both Deadpool and Green Lantern soon, but now he’s playing a grown man’s imaginary superhero friend.
Synopsis: A woman decides to get pregnant on her own when she can’t find the right guy. Of course, as soon as she gets pregnant, she meets the right guy, but he doesn’t know she’s pregnant.
My Take: Not sure how someone that looks like Alex O’Loughlin would still be single by the time she runs into him.
Synopsis: Secret special forces guys have a death order put on them by their boss so they go on a mission to clear their name and shoot everything in the process.
My Take: It appears to be a movie with a lot of shooting and nakedness with a tiny bit of plot squeezed in for good measure.
Synopsis: Disney documentary about what’s going on in the waters.
My Take: With Planet Earth and Life on television, I think I have my basis covered in this area already.
Synopsis: Documentary about how what has been classified as the “worst movie ever” is finally finding an audience. That movie is Troll 2.
My Take: It looks hilarious with the people having annual festivals and screenings for it in theaters.
RT Score: 92%
Synopsis: It is a Korean film done in the style of the old spaghetti westerns.
My Take: This is the kind of action movie that I like with a sense of humor mixed in with the crazy.
Synopsis: A failed novelist has writers’ block and an imaginary superhero friend. His wife convinces him to hang out on his own for a winter to finish his book, but instead he starts a friendship with a young woman.
My Take: It wants to find the older man and younger woman bond in Lost in Translation, but it looks like it doesn’t quite live up to it.
RT Score: 33%
Synopsis: A guy has a bad sleepwalking disorder where he finds blood on himself the night after one of his friends is found dead. He doesn’t know if he had anything to do with it.
My Take: It has an interesting premise, but looks stupider and stupider the farther along the trailer went.
