True Blood: Witch Fight Tonight

True Blood
Spellbound

Right from the credits, I knew it would be a good episode since it was written by Alan Ball. It was not as awesome as the third season episode where the King of Mississippi killed the news anchor on air, but it did have some pretty hilarious lines throughout the show.

PRO: Jason got to the door right in time to save Jessica. No one really thought Jessica was going to die though. This isn’t Game of Thrones where they just kill people out of nowhere. šŸ˜‰

CON: Jessica is a bit stronger than Jason and since she really wanted to go outside, he didn’t keep her down on the ground long.

PRO: Jessica was just about to kill Jason when the witches figured their little spell had done what needed to be done and quit chanting. Good timing!

PRO/CON: Jessica and Jason kissing is pretty hot, but think about Hoyt!

PRO: Bill yelling in the basement while Jason and Jessica are making out.

PRO: Bill actually thinks that the witches are being smart with their spell and stopping it for a bit before going at it again. He wants to wait until nightfall before taking the silver off for good. Little does he know that Antonia does not think that anyone ever talked about her little stunt hundreds of years ago so they could know what to do to prepare for the SAME EXACT SPELL. Ah, old people.

CON: Jason trying to get Jessica’s mind off the searing burning pain of the silver on her by saying things like BBQ!

PRO: Bill telling Jason to nicely get out of there since he’s a doofus.

PRO: Jason decides to ignore the human that Jessica killed since she’s hot.

CON: Bad hair pack leader is still lame.

PRO: He does point out to Tommy wannabe wolf idiot that he would not fight a vampire because he would be dead.

PRO: Sam has to play Barbie with Luna’s little girl.

PRO: Swedish cursing from Eric when Sookie peels off the silver chains.

PRO: Eric is much better at stopping when he needs to feed on Sookie than Bill was, especially with making sure that she had some silver in her hand.

CON: While I like that Eric and Sookie will be bonded by blood when she drinks from him, it is still weird that he has his orgasmy noises when she sucks the blood from the palm of his hand.

PRO: Hoyt has missed Jessica!

CON: Jessica doesn’t like Hoyt being stinky. Then she says she doesn’t want to live with him anymore. Mean!

CON: Hoyt breaking down and crying about breaking up with Jessica. Do not like him saying that he’ll die without her. When did he turn into a wuss?

CON: Did Jessica just kill Hoyt?

PRO: Jason getting turned on that Jessica has blood all over her.

PRO: Oh good, it is a dream. I was suspecting it was when Jason started to get a little freaky with wanting to do it with Jessica right in front of Hoyt’s place.

PRO: Blood donors wear spa robes!

PRO: Kevin is still around! And he’s saying awesome lines like, “I bet it’s going to rain tonight. I can always tell where that panther tore my throat open.”

CON: Andy half thinks about licking up the exploded vampire. He’s seriously hooked on V.

PRO: Jason is the voice of reason! He tells Andy to cut it out.

PRO: Andy goes on a self-pitying rant and Jason has to tell him at the end, “I’m sorry man. I quit listening about halfway through.”

PRO: I love it when Bill is being sneaky, like when heĀ glamours the reporter to let him give a statement about the vampire death.

PRO: Shower scene! Good shot of Eric’s butt!

CON: Due to Sookie being on V and Eric tripping out on her fairy blood, their shower scene turns into Narnia. While I like them being together, they have been in a bit of a fantasy land and now they are literally in a fantasy land! I’m waiting for the real Eric and Sookie to be together. Right now, this is a bit of the fake Eric.

PRO: Antonia doesn’t know how to use the TV remote, which makes her even madder than Bill talking on TV.

CON: Of course Tara didn’t ask what the spell would do before she decided to help the witch so she is surprised that her ultimate goal was to kill all the vampires.

CON: Even though I can see why Tara has decided that all vampires should die, she really shouldn’t treat all of them the same. Only a few were wacko towards her and that’s mostly because she just didn’t love Franklin.

PRO: Bill acting like the good politician and convincing Antonia to meet with him in theĀ cemetery. Good meeting spot!

CON: Poor Andy has no respect when trying to get Hoyt Momma to quit taking pictures of vampire goop.

CON: Oh Tommy is stealing clothes, which only means…we are going to have to see some kind of Tommy storyline!

CON: Alcide and Debbie together. I’m just waiting for them to break up! Sure I like Sookie with Eric, but can’t she have Alcide too? I think so. Let’s move this storyline along to that point!

PRO: Conveniently placed animal pelts on Eric’s naughty bits!

PRO: Sookie and Eric saying they love each other.

PRO: Evil baby just hanging out in the Merlotte kitchen with Terry. Terry is being serious about watching him since he does have a rear view mirror!

CON: Oh it’s the ghost lady again. This is another storyline that needs to move along or go away.

PRO: Lafayette thinks the same thing when he walks into the kitchen, sees her and says “Fuck this shit” before walking away. I’m with you!

PRO: Tommy being Hoyt Mommy is pretty damn funny.

PRO: I think Hoyt is watching the same show in real life that he was in Jessica’s dream.

PRO: I do like the more realistic way the break up is going between Jessica and Hoyt. I like him getting mad and not breaking down with the crying and talking about killing himself.

CON: I do not like him being mean though about her being a virgin forever since that has to suck!

CON: Hoyt getting rid of his invitation for Jessica being in their house and then saying maybe his momma was right. Oh no, she is never right!

PRO: More Eric butt when they are back in an actual house and out of Narnia.

CON: Sookie starts to figure out that Eric wants to just hang around all day being a bum and while the attention is awesome, she needs for him to have a job!

PRO: Lame haircut pack leader does one good thing in letting Alcide know about something happening between the witches and vampires that night, which makes Alcide look concerned about Sookie and Debbie look concerned about Alcide thinking about Sookie. Yeah!

CON: Alcide promises he’ll stay away from Sookie. Bad promise!

PRO: We finally get some backstory on the ghost lady. She’s mad because some married white guy she had an affair with when she was alive killed her baby since he couldn’t let it get out that he slept with her. I think I’d be mad too.

PRO: Lafayette is possessed by ghost lady. I really hope he puts on her dress since that would go with the sauntering he does when he’s walking around as her.

CON: Sookie is dressed like a pilgrim.

PRO: Even when Eric is all nice, he is still fighting with Bill over Sookie. I find that hilarious.

PRO: Love it when Sookie yells at them for not letting her speak for herself.

PRO: After Eric calls Bill, “My liege,” Sookie follows up with, “My….Bill.”

CON: Lame hair pack leader is Luna’s ex so he shows up and acts all stupid in front of Sam.

PRO: When lame hair pack leader tries to scare Sam, Sam just looks at him like he’s an idiot.

PRO: Jason yells at Jessica for breaking Hoyt’s heart. Good friend!

PRO: Jason has to immediately do push ups to make up for being turned on that Jessica was there or for feeling guilty or both.

CON: Lafayette steals devil baby. Wait, maybe this is a good thing.

PRO: The entire witch fight in the cemetery was awesome. It was so much better than the witch fight in the book.

PRO: One of the witches holding a silver tray as a shield is awesome.

PRO: Once again, I forgot that Sookie can hear thoughts since it is only used when necessary in the show now. That’s a plus. Also, she heard the spell that Antonia was casting so they could fight back. Yeah!

PRO: Eric’s giggling when he ripped out someone’s throat super quickly.

PRO: Pam ripping the gun out of Tara’s hand.

PRO: Alcide fulfilling his promise to Debbie for about two seconds before showing up at Sookie’s door to see if she is okay. Also, Debbie seeing him doing it. Yippee!

PRO: Pam is about to kill Tara.

CON: Then Bill stops her. Damn!

PRO: Pam’s line: “This is so fucking lame!” I’m with you Pam.

CON: Tara not getting why Bill won’t kill her. Did she listen to nothing that Bill told Antonia? She has trust issues.

PRO: Sookie doing her lighting bolt thing from her hands when some lame witch thinks she’s a vampire to stake.

CON: Sookie getting randomly shot by someone.

PRO: Both Eric and Bill know she is hurt since they both have a blood bond with her.

CON: That makes Bill lose focus and miss that one witch has a huge ass silver cross to smoosh onto his face while another one throws a huge silver chain around him.

CON: Antonia makes Eric her lap dog. Oops!

PRO: The awesome amount of random fog in the cemetery.

PRO: With both Eric and Bill out of the picture, that only leaves Alcide to save Sookie…..with Debbie Pelt watching. Haha!

What did you think of this week’s episode? Do you enjoy the episodes written by Alan Ball or are they no better or worse than other ones? What do you think about Jessica dumping Hoyt? Sad or was it time for her to move on? Are you glad that the ghost storyline is moving along finally or do you wish it was never introduced? Do you think that Antonia will give Eric his memories back so she can get some information out of him now that he’s her lapdog? I think that would be excellent!
