This week, 12-year-old girls will rule the movie theater screens. I’m not sure why Justin Bieber needs more promotion, but here’s a movie all about him. The rest of the big screen releases did not get good reviews. Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston quit making good movies a while ago, but this one actually looks halfway decent or maybe my expectations are just that low for both of them. I can ignore the kiddie flick about gnomes, but I like gnomes so I’m still disappointed it looks so lame. I will also ignore another boring Channing Tatum movie. Can people quit giving him roles? He’s so bland.
Nationwide Releases
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Just Go With It
Gnomeo and Juliet
The Eagle
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Directed: Jon Chu
Starring: Justin Bieber
Trailer
Synopsis: Concert documentary about Justin Bieber.
My Take: I remember when band documentaries were just released on video and they didn’t need to be released as movies, but teenage girls will buy anything.
RT Score: 67%
RT Consensus: As a tour documentary, it’s rather uninspired — but as a 3D glimpse of a building pop culture phenomenon, Never Say Never is undeniably entertaining.
