Tom essentially told Grayson that chicken salad sandwich was too boring and wasn’t sure why she chose to make it for the block party. Grayson countered saying that it wasn’t any less boring than making meatballs. Tom usually has the last word to say if any chef challenges him at Judges’ Table, but he just started to laugh since I think he agreed with her at that point.

Top Chef: The Evil Queen
Top Chef has always been crazy about its product placement and this episode was no different with the elimination challenge a product placement for a movie. The main guest star was Charlize Theron who was there to promote her movie, Snow White and the Huntsmen. Even though the promotional stuff is annoying, at least they did something interesting with it for the elimination challenge.

Top Chef: Kitchen Meltdown
This is the episode where Sarah turned into Heather. I used to confuse them a bit when this season started, but then Sarah seemed a bit quiet and shy while Heather was out of control. Then as soon as Heather left, Sarah seemed to bitch more than contribute. She also seemed to take over the job of hating Beverly. Is Beverly really that bad? She doesn’t seem like the best team player, but I see more bullying going on this season than any other season. Maybe if Beverly didn’t just shut down when they bullied her, I wouldn’t feel so bad for her.

Top Chef: BBQ Exhaustion
Yes, there was some drama surrounding Sarah leaving a challenge mid-way through due to heat exhaustion (flashback to Jamie and her cut finger), but I’m getting more and more concerned over Chris J.’s stupid ponytail on top of his head. I think when there were more chefs, I didn’t fully notice it, but now that there are only nine, it is becoming more noticeable. I thought he put it on top of his head for health reasons while cooking, but he wanders around the time with that stupid ponytail. Why doesn’t he just cut his hair?

Top Chef: Tweet Twist
I remember when the the Top Chef Twitter account was asking for fan suggestions for the quickfire challenge in this episode. I was wondering how it would play out in an episode and when it would air, but in case anyone thinks it didn’t actually happen, they did ask for suggestions on Twitter.

Top Chef: Dueling Duos
The chefs had to pair a dish with tequila, which also meant there was some tequila shots to be had. Then, they had to create a dish using game meat. I’m not the biggest fan of game meat so I don’t think I would have liked most of the dishes in the main challenge for this portion of the competition.

Top Chef: What’s Your Damage, Heather?
Heather had shown signs of being a bit focused on Beverly in a past episode, but with this episode, it has become a full on obsession. She hates Beverly breathing. Nyesha is correct when she says that Heather is a bully. Beverly’s part of the main challenge was peeling and deveining 400 shrimps, but Heather didn’t think she was doing enough. She thought she should be doing tons more, even though other people were doing small tasks like making butter or grilling veggies. She really hates Beverly and has no issue with letting Beverly know that she drives her crazy. Beverly just looks confused back at Heather like others do too. She has turned into a “Heather” from the Winona Ryder-Christian Slater fine feature film from the ’80s.

Top Chef: Fancy Pants Party
The chefs were in charge of a fancy pants progressive dinner party in Dallas where some dishes were not fancy pants enough, but first the chefs had to cook something out of a survival kit in the middle of nowhere Texas. Pay attention so you know what to make when the zombie attacks happen!

Top Chef: No Crying in Cooking
Beverly cried during the first “real” episode last week when she saw the girl dancing with her father. Then she cried again this week when she was missing her husband while at the rodeo. We can start a drinking game of drinking whenever Beverly starts crying during this show.

Top Chef: Snakes on a Plate
The chefs started out making a dish with rattlesnake before they created Mexican food for a Quinceanera. We also learned the kind of tortilla used really determines if a dish is an enchilada or burrito. Top Chef is all about learning!
